Anespa Internal Ceramic Filter needs to be replaced every two years and Anespa External Filter needs to be replaced every year (standard usage).
What are the components of an Enagic genuine filter? What does it do?
Most Enagic filters are composed of calcium sulfite, granular activated carbon, and a mechanical filtration layer. Calcium sulfite removes chlorine. Granular activated carbon removes chlorine, sediment, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), unpleasant flavor, and odor from water. Then, mechanical filtration removes dirt, sand, rust, silt, and other organic material.

What is the Ultra-E Prefilter? What does it do?
The Ultra-E is a prefiltration unit. Like the internal filter, the Ultra-E can pass up to 1,500 gallons of water before replacement.
The Ultra-E filter reduces or removes the following pathogens: >99.99% of viruses (polio, rotavirus, norovirus, etc.), >99.99% of bacteria (e. coli, legionella, pseudomonas, etc.), and >99.95% cysts (giardia, cryptosporidium, etc.). It is also able to remove or reduce the following heavy metals: >95% lead, >90% ferrous iron, >95% arsenic v, >95% cadmium, >95% chromium, >75% selenium, and >60% mercury. Finally, the Ultra-E is capable of removing or reducing the following organic and inorganic chemicals: volatile organic compounds (VOCs), PCBs and BPA, residual pharmaceuticals, and bio-fouling precursors (organic acids, proteins, and polysaccharides).
